Contactless and Mobile Payments Resources
American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa all have contactless payment initiatives, with leading banks issuing tens of millions of contactless credit and debit cards to consumers. Major retailers across the U.S. have installed contactless readers that can accept contactless payment and are integrated with point-of-sale (POS) systems. Research shows that consumers, issuers and merchants benefit from the use of contactless payments. Consumers enjoy added convenience, speed and ease of use, while issuers and merchants enjoy faster transaction times, increased spending per transaction, lower operational costs and penetration into the cash payment market. Contactless payment deployment is also establishing the POS infrastructure to accept NFC mobile contactless payment transactions.
