Smart Card Alliance Security of Things 2016 Conference to Highlight Need for Security, Privacy and Authentication in IoT

Registration is now open, conference to be held October 18-19 in Chicago

Princeton Junction, N.J., June 30, 2016 – Registration is now open for the Smart Card Alliance’s newest event, the Security of Things 2016, being held in Chicago, Illinois this fall. The Alliance is bringing security, privacy and authentication to the forefront of the Internet of Things (IoT) with speakers from both the IoT and security communities. Speakers will discuss the impact embedded security technology is expected to have on connected cars, wearables, smart homes, smart cities, smart factories, identity and authentication, data integrity and privacy, IoT payment, standards and regulation and more.

The conference will be held October 18-19, 2016 at the Hilton Rosemont Chicago O’Hare Hotel in Chicago. To register, visit www.sca-securityofthings.com. Early bird discounts are available through August 31.

“The Smart Card Alliance and its events are known for moving industries forward when it comes to security requirements across payments, mobile, healthcare, identity and access control. The Alliance has created this new event to do the same for IoT,” said Randy Vanderhoof, executive director of the Smart Card Alliance. “Attendees can expect to hear from experts in both the IoT and security spaces on the most important developments, innovations and efforts driving security and privacy in IoT, and will learn about the advantages and challenges IoT presents across every market, including payments, transportation, industrial, consumer and healthcare.”

Through keynotes, roundtables and panels, attendees will:

  • Discover how different industries like payments, healthcare, smart cities, transportation and others are collaborating on standards and best practices for secure IoT frameworks
  • Learn why the industry needs secure IoT architectures that incorporate embedded security and privacy
  • Hear about the business issues for incorporating secure architectures into designs for connected devices
  • Network with executives and thought leaders across all verticals of IoT

Innovative thought leaders and experts interested in speaking at the event are invited to submit a proposal by July 15, 2016. For more information on becoming a speaker, visit http://www.sca-securityofthings.com/call-for-speakers/.
