Payments Thought Leaders Invited to Submit Speaking Proposals for the Smart Card Alliance’s 2017 Payments Summit

Proposals accepted through Nov. 30

Princeton Junction, N.J., October 21, 2016 – Do you have insights on recent developments in payments, such as EMV chip technology, faster transactions, mobile wallets, IoT or wearable payments, contactless payments, and open transit payment systems or other payment innovations? Submit a speaking proposal on innovations and developments for payments across retail, mobile, IoT, FinTech and transit markets to become one of the expert speakers at the Smart Card Alliance’s 2017 Payments Summit.

Proposals must be submitted by Wednesday, November 30, 2016 to be considered. For guidelines on how to submit, visit http://www.scapayments.com/call-for-speakers. The 10th Annual Smart Card Alliance Payments Summit will be held on March 27-30, 2017 at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld® in Orlando, Fla. Details regarding the agenda and registration can be found at www.scapayments.com.

“The payments industry is rapidly changing, and there have been significant developments across the ecosystem over the past year. The migration to EMV chip payments has made significant progress, more consumers are paying with mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Android Pay, mobile ticketing and open payments are becoming an integral part of transit payments, and the Internet of Things is providing new opportunities for payments through wearables and connected devices,” said Randy Vanderhoof, executive director of the Smart Card Alliance. “The Payments Summit is a great opportunity for thought leaders to share their insights and collaborate with peers on how to best take advantage of these opportunities and create an enhanced and more secure payment experience in the U.S.”

The conference program advisory committee is looking for vendor-neutral, educational presentations that focus the use of payments technologies and alternative payments solutions and innovations that fall into one of the following categories:

  • EMV, Mobile Payment, and Digital Payments
  • Faster Payment and Secure Payment Strategies and Blockchain
  • Open-loop Payments for Transit, Parking, and Unattended Point of Sale
  • IoT Payments, Wearables, and Connected Cars
  • FinTech Payment Technologies and the Future of Payments

2017 will mark the second time the Smart Card Alliance is co-locating the event with the ICMA Expo, providing attendees expanded content, exhibits and networking covering the full spectrum of cards and payments. Any member or non-member individuals and organizations who wish to learn about the real-life applications of payments technologies and systems and card manufacturing are invited to attend the event.
