Christian Juettner

Christian Juettner currently serves as Senior Vice President, Cards & New Business, for Giesecke & Devrient’s U.S. Cards and Solutions Division, based in the technology corridor of Northern Virginia. Before coming to the U.S. in January 2006, Mr. Juettner served as Vice President of Strategic Marketing for the international card business of Giesecke & Devrient’s headquarters in Munich, Germany.

Prior to joining Giesecke & Devrient, Mr. Juettner worked for Siemens Semiconductors (today: Infineon Technologies) in the position of Marketing Manager, where he helped establish strategies for standard chip components. In 1996, Mr. Juettner moved to Siemens Semiconductors’ ChipCard & Security ICs division. As a Director of International Projects, he was responsible for global business in the Smart Payment segment, helping Siemens Semiconductors to become the world leader in smart card and security chips.

In 1998, Mr. Juettner joined Giesecke & Devrient GmbH as a Senior Manager with responsibility for G&D’s Visa and MasterCard chip card projects. In May 1999 he was promoted to Head of Product Marketing for payment cards. In this role, Mr. Juettner was representing G&D in the MAOSCO consortium.

In March 2002, Mr. Juettner was further promoted to become Vice President of Strategic Marketing for G&D’s world wide card business. His division developed strategies for the smart card business and for the identification of new business opportunities and future technologies. His team also focused on global partnerships to expand the G&D product and solutions portfolio. In October 2002, Mr. Juettner was elected as a Board Director of the Global Platform consortium.

Mr. Juettner started his new position in January 2006, and is responsible for overseeing the Telecom, Banking & New Business Divisions of G&D’s U.S. market.

Christian Juettner holds a Master degree in Business and Engineering from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany.
