New US Passports Contain Secure Identification Chips From Infineon; Advanced Technology Meets International Standard for Secure Travel Documents
San Jose, Calif. and Munich, Germany – August 21, 2006 – Infineon Technologies AG (NYSE/FSE: IFX) today announced that it received a multi-million piece purchase order from the United States government to supply its highly-secure integrated circuit technology for the new electronic passport. Munich/Delhi, August 24, 2006 – By opening a new factory in Delhi, Giesecke & Devrient (G&D)—the second-largest manufacturer of smart cards worldwide—is strengthening its position in Asia to meet the particular requirements of India’s up-and-coming chip card market. Poland Selects Gemalto Technology for its Electronic Passport Program

Gemalto va fournir 2,5 millions de cartes nationales d’identité au Sultanat d’Oman
Amsterdam, Pays-Bas / Muscat, Sultanat d’Oman, le 21 septembre 2006 – Gemalto (Euronext NL0000400653 GTO), leader mondial de la sécurité numérique, annonce aujourd’hui que le Sultanat d’Oman a retenu sa technologie pour mettre en oeuvre la deuxième phase du programme de cartes nationales d’identité. Aux termes du contrat, Gemalto sera chargé d’actualiser le système national d’immatriculation en vigueur, de fournir les services d’intégration et les cartes d’identité électroniques qui permettront au Sultanat d’Oman de proposer à ses citoyens des services publics de meilleure qualité, plus rapides et mieux sécurisés. Le programme, qui doit débuter fin 2006, porte sur plus de 2,5 millions de cartes d’identité.
