Integrated Engineering introduces DESFire development suite

In order to provide the market with an adequate solution to implement DESFire cardtechnology into their solutions, Integrated Engineering has extended its ISO 14443 level 4 A&B kits with a full DESFire development suite for its OEM customers. The suite is available together with an easy to integrated API/SDK and sample software routines, which will strongly reduce time to market for customers. [ read the full release ]


New German Passport to Contain Contactless Secure Chips from Infineon

The German government is using highly secure chips developed by Munich-based semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies AG (FSE/NYSE: IFX) in an effort to make counterfeiting and unauthorized use virtually impossible in future electronic passports, which the German Passport Office intends to issue as of November 2005. Infineon will also be supplying a special chip package developed for identity cards and passports as well as the inlay containing the antenna and its connection to the chip. Alacris Announces Technology Partner Relationship

Alacris announced a technology partner relationship with Aladdin Knowledge Systems a leading provider of security solutions that reduce software theft, authenticate network users and protect against unwanted Internet and e-mail content. As a result of Alacris joining the Aladdin eToken Solution Partner Program, both companies have validated full interoperability of the Alacris idNexus for Microsoft Identity Assurance Management System with Aladdin eToken PRO smartcards and eToken PRO USB devices. INGENICO AND OTI FORM PARTNERSHIP IN SECURE CONTACTLESS PAYMENT AND IDENTIFICATION


Ingenico is integrating OTI’s contactless technology with the eN-Touch 1000, as well as the i6770 and i6550 customer-activated payment terminals. Giesecke & Devrient Delivers Millionth “e-card”
Production of the Austrian social insurance card is on target

National distribution of the Austrian social insurance e-card was started on May 30 of this year. The production at the international technology group Giesecke & Devrient (G&D), the provider of the card, is running in top gear. The millionth e-card will be shipped today. By November of this year, all eight million cards will have been delivered. Austria is thereby taking a leading role in the move to modernize Europe's public health systems.
