Princeton Junction, NJ, June 22, 2010–Today, at least one smart card has been shipped for every person on the planet, with the globally installed base of smart cards estimated to have surpassed eight billion in 2009. In the Americas, the number of smart cards is expected to grow to 1.2 billion by 2014. Princeton Junction, N.J., May 14, 2010–An essential element for effective U.S. immigration reform is providing a way to securely verify an individual’s identity, immigration status and employment eligibility. Currently, the system relies on the three basic American identity documents–birth certificates, state-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards, and Social Security cards–which are easily and widely counterfeited. This conclusion is evident from the failure of immigration reform laws already in effect since 1986, and by reforms recommended in the report of the 9/11 commission as well.

The Alliance also announced its first two CSCIP/G exams, which will be held on June 29th and November 19th, 2010 in Washington, DC.
