What might a move to the Europay, MasterCard, Visa standard look like in the United States? The migration could take different routes, says Randy Vanderhoof, executive director of the Smart Card Alliance, a not-for-profit, multi-industry smart-card association. Randy’s address opened the first meeting of the new joint IAB/SCA format for these regular public meetings for disseminating information about federal smart card programs. Randy announced the launch of the Alliance’s new government-focused smart card training and certification program CSCIP/Government. This new training program is an extension of the existing CSCIP training and certification program with further emphasis on FIPS 201, PIV and PIV I, ICAM roadmap, PKI authentication, and use case involving physical and logical access security in the federal enterprise.
