Gemalto’s innovation drive in personal mobile services for GSM and future network evolutions is approved by European Commission
Amsterdam, the Netherlands, May 23, 2008–Gemalto (Euronext NL0000400653 GTO), the world leader in digital security, today announces that the European Commission has authorized the financial grant by the French government to the MaXSSIMM¹ development program through OSEO. OSEO is a French public Agency which supports innovation and development. The program, carried out by a Gemalto-led consortium, is intended to facilitate and accelerate the implementation of convenient personalized and secure Internet services for mobile devices. OSEO will contribute to the program through a €35-million subsidy over 3 years.

Beijing, May 22, 2008–Gemalto (Euronext NL0000400653 GTO) employees at its greater China offices and Goldpac subsidiary have contributed over RMB 750,000 to the Red Cross Society of China, in support for relief work towards helping victims of the devastating earthquake in the Sichuan province of China on May 12, 2008. Gemalto offices in other countries also participated to different contributions towards the disaster relief through relief funds in their areas.
