Council announces first year results, new officers and plans for 2007

Several Arenas Join Football and Baseball Stadiums by Accepting Contactless Payments to Improve the Fan Experience
Purchase, NY, April 16, 2007–MasterCard Worldwide today announced that three arenas, home to three National Hockey League (NHL), two National Basketball Association (NBA) teams and an array of special events are accepting MasterCard® PayPass™, a contactless payment option. Now fans can pay for concessions using MasterCard PayPass, which delivers speed and convenience at the register when making purchases. American Airlines Center, United Center and XCel Energy Center, homes of the Dallas Stars and Mavericks, Chicago Blackhawks and Bulls, and Minnesota Wild respectively, will accept PayPass at in-stadium concession stands just in time for the playoffs.

MasterCard and Aduno Group Announce First European EMV Contactless Credit Card Transaction at McDonald’s

Terminals Enable Faster Payment with the Same Security Protections that Fans Have Come to Expect from Visa
SAN FRANCISCO, March 27, 2007–The San Francisco Giants and Visa USA today announced plans for full deployment of Visa consumer-facing payment terminals throughout AT&T Park - making it easier for baseball fans to speed through concession lines and get back to the game. Thanks to this technology, fans can use Visa cards to purchase food and beverages throughout the park quickly, conveniently and securely, without handing over their credit, debit or prepaid card to the cashier. For purchases less than $25, Visa cardholders are not required to provide a signature, making it even faster to pay for refreshments at the game.
