SIM-based NFC technology adds enhanced user experience, improved branding and greater market penetration

At the end of November 2007, six major banks, four mobile phone operators,, Visa Europe and MasterCard Worldwide will be launching the “Pay by Mobile” operation, an experimental contactless payment system. 1000 test customers will have mobile phones fitted with INSIDE Contactless’s MicroRead NFC component
Paris, 9 November 2007–INSIDE Contactless, the leading NFC technology and contactless chip designers, have announced that they will be participating in the “pay by mobile” operation. Inside will fit their NFC MicroRead chip to the 1000 pilot-scheme customers’ mobile phones.

FIME, a leading provider of testing solutions for the contactless market, today announced that Discover Network, a business unit of Discover Financial Services (NYSE:DFS), a leading payments company in the United States, has accredited FIME’s laboratory for full contactless functional testing. Discover Network selected FIME R&D and consulting services to design and implement its global test and certification environment for contactless smartcards and terminals. Innovative Beep ‘N Go project by FET involves panel of 200 and expands the features of mobile phones to those of a credit card, an e-coupon or even a door key

Amsterdam, Taiwan, October 4, 2007–Gemalto (Euronext NL0000400653 GTO), the world leader in digital security, today announces a partnership with Taiwan’s Far EasTone Telecommunications Ltd. to start Asia’s first mobile contactless SIM-based NFC (Near Field Communications) trial.
